Warranties

A building’s roofing system is your first line of defense against the elements. Protect your roofing system investment with the strength of a Firestone warranty and maximize the life of your roof through regular maintenance.

Quality Warranties
Firestone offers a variety of full system warranty options covering materials and workmanship. Depending on the commercial roofing system, terms of the warranty can range from five years to a comprehensive no-dollar limit, 30-year warranty. Access the following to transfer or alter a warranty:

Ongoing Maintenance
Roof maintenance should be an ongoing program that starts the day the roof is installed, which gives you a view of the roof in its best condition and provides a reference for future comparison. A service agreement with your Firestone-licensed contractor is a convenient way to manage roof maintenance and offers several benefits such as regular inspections, the implementation of an emergency response plan, and the proactive identification of potential problems. In most cases, a properly installed and maintained roof constructed with high-quality products should last beyond the specified warranty period. Many Firestone warranties can be extended for up to five years. For maintenance tips, please download the Firestone Roof Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Guide.

Photovoltaic (PV) Installations
Environmentally conscious building owners are increasingly considering photovoltaic (PV) systems as a way to increase energy efficiency in their buildings. While these systems have many advantages, they can also increase a roof’s potential for leaks and damage due to increased rooftop foot traffic and additional attachments to the existing roofing membrane. In light of that, special measures need to be taken in order to obtain or continue a warranty when a Firestone roofing system is used as a PV platform.

Before any PV installation begins on an existing Firestone warranted roofing system, a PV Roof Alteration Form must be completed. Upon receipt, Firestone Roofing Solutions will provide details of any enhancements required before installation to the existing system can commence. Coordination with the Firestone Roofing Solutions Department is also required for new construction or reroof projects. In addition, a pre- and post-PV roof audit is needed before a warranty will be issued on all PV installations. An Overburden Waiver also needs to be completed prior to issuance of a Firestone Warranty. These forms are posted below:
